SHR Talent is partnering with a client in Nashville, TN in its search for a highly skilled Corporate Controller. As a key member of the executive team, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization.
An ideal candidate for the Corporate Controller role will possess a demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, and analysis
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team to support decision-making and ensure financial stability and growth
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and development opportunities
- Participate in the development of the annual budget and forecasting process
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders
- Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices and ensure the organization remains compliant
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, and other accounting standards
