POSITION SUMMARY: Facilities Manager
The Shreveport Aquarium's mission is to educate, inspire, and entertain guests while promoting community sustainability. The Facilities Manager plays a vital role in making sure that the facility stays neat, clean and in tip top condition, by ensuring that the necessary repairs and maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities
- Performing minor fixes such as drywall repair, painting, caulking, roofing etc.
- Performing minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs
- HVAC/ plumbing/ electrical maintenance
- Installation of appliances and equipment
- Creating maintenance and repair logs
- Creating preventative maintenance programs
- Coordination with subcontractors and staff members on special projects
- Assistance with special event décor installations
Skills needed
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- High school diploma or equivalent
