The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) is seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Standards Supervisor to manage a team of housing inspectors responsible for evaluating rental properties for Housing Choice Voucher participants. This position will oversee the implementation of Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and other relevant regulations while providing leadership, training, and support to the inspection team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of housing inspectors conducting property inspections for Housing Choice Voucher participants.
- Ensure all inspections comply with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and other applicable regulations.
- Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to inspection staff on HQS, regulations, inspection procedures, and effective communication with property owners and participants.
- Manage the scheduling and coordination of inspections, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of inspection reports, ensuring they are thorough, complete, and submitted on time.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting of inspection results.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and related activities.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance inspection processes and ensure quality control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in housing inspection or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and other relevant housing regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify deficiencies and violations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with program participants, property owners, and inspection staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with inspection software is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
