Job Overview
Shriners Children’s is looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Shriners Children’s St. Louis. This provider will support our Orthopedics team and provide pre-op, post-op, and non-op follow up care to a wide range of pediatric orthopedic patients in a clinic setting.
This position entails a 0.5 FTE commitment with a flexible schedule, 8:00am to 4:00pm, and no nights, weekends, holidays, or call. The pay range for this position is $40.30 to $69.08/hour based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Responsibilities
- Attend general and specialty orthopedic outpatient clinics, coordinating surgeries, diagnostic studies, and following up with patients and families
- Obtain and document appropriate health histories and perform physical exams on orthopedic and rehabilitation patients
- Order appropriate treatment and/or diagnostic studies
- Make appropriate referrals as needed
- Educate patients/parents regarding identified health conditions and findings
- Communicate with community care providers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow up requirements
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing or higher required
- ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA (or equivalent) board certification as a PNP or FNP required
- Active MO RN license required
- Valid MO APRN license with prescriptive authority required
- Active DEA license required
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatrics and/or orthopedics in an outpatient setting highly preferred. New graduates will also be considered.
