Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is actively searching for a part-time Physiatrist to join our team at Shriners Children’s New England in Springfield, MA. The Physiatrist will work with a variety of pediatric patients in an outpatient setting and assist them in restoring optimal physical function to improve their quality of life. Schedule is flexible (M-F) with no weekends and no call. Providers will work a maximum of 20 hours per week and will see up to 15 patients a day on average. 

Responsibilities

• Examine patients that may need to undergo physical therapy, occupational therapy, and/or spasticity management
• Diagnose pain as a result of injury, disease or disabling condition
• Determine and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients
• Recommend and undertake various medical procedures to treat pain, manage spasticity and improve physical functioning
• Lead a team of medical professionals in order to optimize patient care
• Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients and changing treatment plans, as necessary

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school required
• Must have completed an ACGME accredited PM&R residency program
• Must have completed a relevant fellowship training program in Pediatric PM&R
• Must hold a current board certification from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
• Must possess or be eligible for MA state medical license. Licensure in surrounding states a plus.
• Must possess or be eligible for DEA license
• Must posses valid BLS, PALS, and ALS certifications
• Must be comfortable with various tone management strategies in pediatric patients with spasticity

Salary : $20
