JOB TITLE: CAD Designer
DESCRIPTION: This position is primarily responsible for the administration of and document generation within the CAD system. This position functions as part of the Engineering and R&D teams.
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for maintaining and distributing current CAD drawings in support of manufacturing, administrative, and R&D operations. This involves the use of document revision controls and processes.
• Involved in developing and implementing functional improvements and design upgrades to various product lines.
• Provide support to other departments through drum drawings, paint scheme layouts, virtual installs, and various other means as needed.
• Administrator of the CAD system.
• Responsible for managing and completing projects as assigned.
• Involved in new product development as part of the R&D team.
• Responsible for completing research and development related tasks as assigned.
• Assist with the nesting of components in the cutting table software.
• Assists with manufacturing, design, and assembly issues, as needed.
• Assist with in-house IT support.
• Responsible for providing contingency/backup coverage of duties and responsibilities for the Engineering Manager position with a primary focus on project management, and project status reporting.
• All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Functions in various environments including but not limited to a temperature-controlled office, shop/manufacturing facility, and outside work with exposure to the elements and weather at customer sites. Work requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and use various tools throughout an extended workday (8 hours or more). Position requires the use of fingers, hands, arms, and legs consistently for keyboarding, phone, using tools, climbing ladders, climbing into other lifting devices, and other assigned work. Position may need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers, and phone conversations. The shop and outside work environments have high noise levels associated with manufacturing and equipment operating which requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.) and appropriate clothing for protection from the elements.
