Position Overview and Expectations
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic kitchen leader with a focus on consistent execution and results. Shy Bird’s Senior Kitchen Manager will lead and drive all daily kitchen operations at the restaurant. The expectations of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Team management, hiring and training
- Scheduling and labor budgeting
- Cost of goods oversight, ordering, inventory and waste management
- Work with team to standardize and maintain recipes for all items
- Maintain order guides and order accurately and efficiently
- Food safety expertise and practice
- Consistent prep production and menu execution
- Conflict resolution and team motivation
Experience and Skills
- You have at least three years in a kitchen management position in a high-volume, fast-paced environment (quick service or fast casual restaurant experience preferred).
- You have managed a team of 10 people.
- You are Food Safety Manager Certified.
- You have the proven ability to lead, motivate, and build a cohesive kitchen team.
- You are passionate about making and serving high-quality, consistent, delicious food.
- You collaborate with other restaurant managers to maintain a welcoming, fun work environment for both front and back of house team members.
- You obsess about the customer experience, and speak up when the food isn’t up to your standards.
- You have a bias for action, correcting mistakes and finding creative solutions.
- You are fair and polite, seeking the good in others and assuming positive intent.
Compensation
- $70,000 to $80,000/year base salary
