As a part of the Sibelco Legal Team, the Director Legal role will empower you to advise and support the High Purity Quartz (HPQ) activity in North America from a legal perspective.
Your Impact in This Role
As the Director Legal, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working closely with the HPQ Senior Management Team to understand the commercial process, as well as the complexity of production, quality, assessing risks and liability, you are a generalist able to advise on a wide range of legal subjects, such as contracts, disputes with vendors and customers, employment, sales, litigation, etc.
- You will bring a strong commercial acumen, with experience in negotiating, amending or managing contracts, as well as thoughtful supply, sales and CAPEX agreements. You will be able to work on your own, as well as working closely with a number of external specialist law firms.
- You are a hands-on lawyer, as much at ease with legal projects or troubleshooting in an industrial environment, understanding the complexity of production, supply and demand, quality, delivery deadlines, import and export regulations, anticompetition law, as well as the relationship with internal and external stakeholders and clients located across the globe.
- You will support with reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of national and international business-related contracts with third parties.
- You will be working in a dynamic, global environment where you will partner with internal customers and/or senior management to provide practical guidance regarding legal risks where applicable law, regulations or facts of the case are unclear, controversial or conflicting.
- On occasions, you will be part of integrated global project teams, to support complex projects locally and abroad from start to finish.
- Juris Doctor/ Master Degree (or equivalent) in Law
- 5-7 years of experience in a senior legal role in an international organization or as a senior associate practising law in a large law firm
