Description
The Parts Clerk is responsible for the identifying, ordering, physical receipt, verification, labeling, storage, documentation, and security of all parts in the parts room/storage area. This position requires data entry with the use of an inventory software program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attends all morning meetings with reports and updates on all outstanding parts.
- Reviews SharePoint to ensure all parts request have been identified, estimated, ordered, and updates all parts estimated time of arrival in SharePoint.
- Receives, creates bin locations, and creates label for all parts.
- Maintains a list of stocked parts, non-stock parts, and shop supplies to be ordered.
- Sorts, counts, packages, verifies, unpacks, and/or logs into inventory parts that are shipped or received, into the inventory software program.
- Consolidates parts waiting on jobs to a designated and labeled shelf area, with parts being clearly labeled with customer name and RO#.
- Ensure parts returns are conducted in a timely manner and are correctly documented in inventory software program.
- Transfers parts between service locations.
- Performs cycle count of inventory monthly.
- Maintains a clean and organized parts room and has control of access to parts area.
- Responsible for the knowledge and understanding of parts and products, and able to identify as needed.
- Interacts with customers and visits fleet shop customers as needed.
- Always maintains a neat and professional personal appearance.
- Able to operate a company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts.
- Able to perform other duties as needed by location.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must have computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
