Job Summary
The Medical Records Clerk plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining medical records within a healthcare setting. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is proficient in medical terminology and familiar with medical office systems. The Records Specialist ensures that all patient information is accurately recorded, securely stored, and easily accessible for authorized personnel. This position also requires scheduling medical appointments and other medical reception duties.
Duties include:
- Organize and maintain patient records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Review and verify the accuracy of medical records, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests in a timely manner.
- Assist healthcare professionals in retrieving patient information as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Update electronic health record (EHR) systems with new patient information and direct information to the appropriate location in the existing records.
- Assist team in answering multi-line phones to address patient requests and make appointments
- Make confirmation calls
Requirements
- Caring, compassionate, and calm nature
- Experience working in a medical office or similar setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with healthcare professionals and patients.
Part-Time candidates are welcome to apply. Part time need is on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Full-Time candidates will work 7:45 am to 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
