Location: Scott, LA
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Willing to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Siema Construction, LLC is a second-generation heavy civil construction company with over 40 years of expertise in heavy highway construction, heavy hauling, utilities, paving, site work, and pavement restoration. We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with a strong work ethic to maintain, repair, and service heavy equipment and machinery, including excavators, dozers, haul trucks, and fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, and machinery used in civil construction
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, etc.)
- Conduct computer diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, engines, and transmissions
- Test drive trucks and overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Utilize micrometers, gauges, and precision tools to inspect parts for excessive wear
- Perform hydraulic repairs, welding, and fabricating broken parts as needed
- Adhere to safety procedures, including proper handling of tools, disposal of solvents, and use of PPE
- Use hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers) and power tools (pneumatic wrenches, lathes, hammers)
- Work efficiently in all weather conditions (hot/cold environments)
- Maintain shop cleanliness and proper documentation of completed repairs
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Hourly Rate: $25 - $40/hour
Position Requirements: What We Require:
- 5 years of diesel mechanic experience (construction equipment preferred)
- Diesel mechanic degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus)
- Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
- Brake Certification required
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to operate computer/laptop-based diagnostics system
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety

- High school diploma or GED required
- Diesel mechanic degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs, kneel, crawl, and work in extreme weather conditions
