As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of Siema Construction’s projects by maintaining high-quality standards in materials and workmanship. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting quality control testing on concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials
- Performing sampling and testing in compliance with Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) standards
- Organizing and implementing sampling programs according to LADOTD specifications
- Maintaining accurate records of all test results and documentation
- Ensuring that all minimum testing requirements and procedures are met
- Collaborating with project managers and field personnel to resolve quality concerns
- Calibrating and maintaining testing equipment to ensure accurate performance
- Preparing and submitting quality control reports to project management and LADOTD representatives
Position Requirements: What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Control Technician with the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- LADOTD certifications in PCC Paving or PCC Plant
- Knowledge of LADOTD specifications and testing procedures
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry software
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
- Additional LADOTD certifications (e.g., Structural Concrete Inspector, Embankment and Base Course)
- Experience with materials testing equipment and procedures
- Familiarity with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) principles in construction
- Work is primarily performed on construction sites
- Requires travel to various project locations
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of testing equipment
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction environments
