Your day involves a blend of technical expertise and problem-solving to ensure the seamless operation and accuracy of complex machinery.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Operate horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machines, and speed mills according to provided instructions or work packages.
- Use various precision measurement tools to check machined dimensions, verify tolerances, and perform first article inspections on parts.
- Set up and program parts applying “G” Code to write machining programs specific to each part.
- Exercise judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Machinist certificate or equivalent experience
- Completion of a machining apprenticeship is preferred
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop mathematics
- Proven experience operating horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machines, and speed mills
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
