Designs and/or coordinates the implementation of internal EHS guidelines and processes within assigned organization.

Overview: We are looking for an ambitious, proactive, and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an EHS Professional. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their careers while playing a critical role in ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance of our operations. As an EHS Professional, you will be involved in a variety of essential programs and initiatives that help create a safe and sustainable workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hazardous & Biological Waste Management:
    • Coordinate and manage the RCRA Main and Satellite Area waste pickups and inspections.
    • Oversee waste shipments, ensuring compliance with DOT requirements.
    • Prepare waste for shipment in accordance with DOT and DEA guidelines, including bulk solvent pour-offs (respirator required) and transporting bulk hazardous waste (250 gallon totes via forklift).
    • Manage Controlled Substance waste to meet DEA regulatory requirements.
  • EHS Management Systems & Compliance:
    • Assist with the implementation and management of EHS programs and processes.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the site’s Safety & Health Management Culture.
    • Conduct department safety walkthroughs and reviews of new equipment to ensure safety compliance.
  • Incident Management & Training:
    • Assist in the response, investigation, and tracking of actions related to EHS Incident reports.
    • Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs to all employees to ensure compliance and awareness.
    • Manage the Site's Cority Near Miss / Good Observation Program.
  • Medical & Emergency Response:
    • Act as a member of the on-site Medical Emergency Response Team, ensuring readiness and compliance in emergency situations.
  • Recordkeeping & Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain monthly EHS scorecards and reports.
    • Ensure the accurate maintenance of EHS records, including SDS, chemical inventory, inspections, and training logs.
  • Sustainability & Support:
    • Assist with sustainability initiatives, including regulatory reporting, permit assistance, and other environmental efforts.
    • Support Operations and Facilities teams with EHS-related concerns and activities.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Perform administrative functions, including procurement, vendor coordination, and periodic reviews of EHS documentation.
    • Maintain department supply inventories and oversee equipment inspections.
  • Other EHS Duties:
    • Assist with a variety of other EHS duties as required, providing expert advice and feedback to employees on safe work practices and behaviors.
Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to pass background checks for handling DEA Controlled Substances.

Preferred Education, Skills & Experience

  • Certifications in RCRA, DOT, and HAZWOPER (24-hour minimum, 40-hour preferred).
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking experience.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • A collaborative, approachable personality with a strong commitment to helping others and providing safety feedback.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • A proactive work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
