Position Overview :
Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles.As an Electro-Mechanical Technician I, you will support a broad range of electrical and mechanical assembly and installation activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment building electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and other sub-assemblies for the best rail vehicles in the world.
What your day-to-day will look like :
- Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
- Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Cut wire to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points.
- Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
- Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies.
- Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
