Your Role:
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, employing necessary PPE at all times.
- Drive a culture of safety and precision in welding stainless-steel rail car bodies.
- Skillfully fit and weld parts into detailed assemblies using advanced equipment.
- Ensure impeccable welding standards and repair any discrepancies to uphold quality.
- Collaborate on efficient production practices and maintain thorough documentation.
Skills for Success:
- A high school diploma or GED is essential.
- Possess 3-5 years of MIG welding experience or complete an accredited welding program with at least 2 years of MIG experience.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
- Proficient in basic English for communication and instructions.
Desirables:
- Certification in GMAW 3G vertical up and 4F overhead welding.
- Experience with GTAW welding methods.
Your competencies will be assessed through a thorough background check, drug screening, and relevant respiratory tests (Background Check/Drug Testing: Upon offer of employment, candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen, as well as Pulmonary Function Test and Respirator Fit Test.)
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks involving physical effort, such as walking, bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, and depth perception for precision tasks. Reasonable adjustments available for those with disabilities to ensure job efficiency.
