What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller - Siena College position at Siena College?
Reporting directly to the CFO, Vice President for Finance & Administration (VPFA), the Controller works in a complex fund-based, non-profit environment to direct and oversee a broad portfolio of Siena's accounting operations. These include transaction processing and recording, timely reconciliations, maintenance of the chart of accounts, procedural development and policy implementation, identification and execution of best practice initiatives, compliance with GAAP and funder directives, and coordination with external auditors. In collaboration with other VPFA leaders, and with the support of a staff of accounting professionals and associates, the Controller will support the VPFA in developing information to share with Siena's Board of Trustees, President, Leadership Team, and Governance committees.
Annual Salary Range: $94,020.00 to $110,000.00

Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, A Master's Degree in Accounting or MBA preferred.
- An active CPA license is required;
- 3 years GAAP-constrained accounting experience or an MBA required. Experience in Higher Education or a non-profit organization of similar complexity or an earned AICPA Not-for-Profit Certificate II preferred.
- A minimum 2 years' experience supervising professional staff or managing project teams is required;
- The ability to work independently, yet recognize situations that call for informed input is required;
- The ability to prioritize multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines, and to work additional hours outside of regular business hours and weekends is required;
- Experience with Banner or a similarly complex ERP system is highly desirable;
- A pleasant demeanor and an appropriate sense of humor.
- A background screening will be required.
