Siena College invites applications for the position of Residence Director. We are currently
searching to fill a vacancy for our 11-month Residence Director position.
The successful candidate is expected to strengthen the opportunities for intellectual and personal growth for the Siena residential community. Some of the specific responsibilities for this live-in position include:

This salaried, exempt position includes a furnished one-bedroom apartment, board plan,
comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for on-campus professional development
with other student life departments.
Siena’s student body is 3,400 undergraduate students, 2500 of whom reside on campus in
traditional residence hall and townhouse settings.
Siena College offers a generous benefit package to eligible full-time employees. The benefit
package currently includes a retirement plan contribution equal to 10% of an eligible
participant's compensation (as defined under the plan) after meeting the plan's eligibility
requirements, and tuition reimbursement and exchange opportunities for eligible employees,
spouses, and dependents. Eligible college employees currently enjoy a work schedule that
includes half-day Fridays in the summer and an expansive holiday schedule, including up to two weeks off during winter break. Job Description:
Siena College invites applications for the position of Residence Director. We are currently

- administration of residence halls/facilities housing 250-600 students
- selection, training and supervision of paraprofessional staff
- developing relationships with residents
- planning educational and social programs
- developing and enforcing policy
- adjudicating student conduct policy violations
- serving as a member of an on-call duty rotation
- participating on division and campus-wide committees

- Bachelor’s degree
- ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds
- strong leadership and organizational skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work a non-traditional work schedule in a team-oriented setting
- completion of a background check
- Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field
- previous experience in residence life, particularly as a Residence Director
