*Job Summary* The MDS Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process for patients in a healthcare facility. They ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments to comply with regulatory requirements. *Duties* - Utilize medical terminology and nursing knowledge to complete MDS assessments accurately - Coordinate with healthcare providers to gather necessary information for MDS assessments - Ensure compliance with Medicare, HIPAA, and other regulatory guidelines - Maintain and update patient medical records with MDS information - Develop individualized care plans based on MDS assessments - Supervise and train staff on MDS documentation and processes *Skills* - Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of nursing processes - Knowledge of Medicare regulations and MDS assessment procedures - Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information - Experience working in a nursing home or healthcare setting - Ability to use electronic systems for managing medical records - Strong organizational skills to coordinate MDS assessments efficiently - Capability to develop and implement care plans based on MDS assessments - Supervisory skills to oversee staff involved in the MDS process
