Job Overview
The Dietary Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the dietary operations within our facility, ensuring that all food service activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of food preparation and service. The Dietary Manager will supervise staff, manage dietary programs, and ensure compliance with health regulations while fostering a positive dining experience for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be able to work within a budget.
- Must be able operate within state and federal guidelines.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a CDM certificate.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Must oversee the maintenance, the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties
- Must possess the ability to display patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
- Must be able to complete all other tasks as assigned by the Administrator.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language
Skills
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising staff in a dietary or hospitality setting.
- Strong management skills with a focus on operational efficiency and quality control.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and custodial management within a food service environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while fostering a positive work environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff, residents, and other departments.
- Experience in long-term care settings is preferred but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
