We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Startup/Warranty HVAC Technician to join our team and help ensure the smooth installation, operation, and warranty fulfillment of HVAC systems for our clients.

Job Overview
The Startup/Warranty HVAC Technician will play a key role in the commissioning of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and servicing warranty claims. This position involves working closely with both installation teams and customers to ensure systems are set up, tested, and maintained to the highest standards. The role also includes diagnosing issues under warranty and providing timely solutions to maintain customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Startup & Commissioning:
  • Oversee the initial startup of HVAC systems after installation, ensuring all systems operate according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
  • Perform system tests (e.g., airflow, refrigerant levels, system pressure) to ensure proper functionality.
  • Train clients in how to operate and maintain their new systems.
  • Warranty Support:
  • Respond to and manage warranty service requests from customers.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to HVAC system failures or inefficiencies during the warranty period.
  • Replace defective parts and perform necessary repairs to ensure system operation during the warranty period.
  • Maintain accurate records of service requests, repairs, and parts replacements.
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining professional, friendly, and clear communication during all interactions.
  • Educate clients on system maintenance and preventative measures to prolong system life.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
  • Work closely with installation teams to ensure smooth handoffs from installation to operation.
  • Coordinate with the service team to schedule warranty calls and complete the necessary work in a timely manner.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of startup procedures, service reports, and warranty work.
  • Submit reports on completed tasks and any follow-up needs or parts orders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification or apprenticeship completion required.
  • 3 years of experience working with HVAC systems, preferably in a startup or warranty environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting techniques, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with a variety of HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Familiarity with local HVAC codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and Background.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (50 – 100 pounds).
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including attics, crawls spaces, basements, rooftops, and outdoor locations.
  • Ability to work in cramped or awkward spaces.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
