The primary function of this position is to originate real estate loans, lead, coach and oversee a team of loan originators to achieve business goals while maintaining compliance and delivering exceptional service to members. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance productivity and skill sets. Develop and implement strategies to grow loan origination volume and market share.
Essential Functions
- Identify, hire, monitor and coach team of loan originators.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders and other referral partners.
- Assist with the development of policies and procedures for outside sales.
- Conduct loan interviews with both members and non-members to complete mortgage loan applications.
- Assist members with appropriate loan product selection.
- Drive new business through proactive networking and marketing efforts.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to improve competitive positioning.
- Ensure the team of loan originators provides outstanding service to members throughout the loan process.
- Resolve escalated client issues and foster a client-focused sales culture.
- Perform related and additional duties as assigned.
Requirements : Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in mortgage lending with a focus on loan origination.
Proven track record of leadership and sales success in a managerial role.
Excellent leadership, coaching and motivation skills.
Previous credit union mortgage sales experience preferred.
Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
Extensive knowledge of real estate sales, mortgage loan products, mortgage lending regulations, underwriting guidelines, and compliance.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as necessary.
Must possess well-developed communication skills and the ability to communicate with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
Possess the ability to work and meet deadlines under pressure and cooperate within a team environment.
