The impact you will have:
As a Purchasing Manager for Sierra Forest Products, you will have the opportunity to expand your skillset and enhance our customer experience.
You will impact and manage all aspects of purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support organizational operations. The Purchasing Manager must possess materials management or related field experience in purchasing and procurement.
What you will do:
- Identify, source and visit new suppliers and vendors along with maintaining strategic relationships.
- Manage vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability.
- Collaborate with sales representatives and internal team members to meet customers’ needs.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Establish and update an approved vendor/supplier database.
- Evaluate contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies
- Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
- Measure and manage the vendor and supplier cost, quality and delivery performance.
- Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns.
- Introduce performance improvement measures for suppliers and vendors.
- Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders.
- Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives.
- Oversee the operations and daily activities of the purchasing department.
- Performance manage, develop and motivate purchasing staff.
- Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organizational needs and market conditions
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
- Experience in purchasing and procurement (PMP certification preferred).
- Supervisory experience with a working knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle.
- Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems often required preferred.
- Financial acumen.
- High competency level in MS Office applications
- Post secondary education or experience in field.

Salary : $65,000 - $90,000
