Scope of Position
The Banquet Setup Supervisor assists the Banquet Setup Manager in the daily operations of all meeting room set-ups, refreshments, teardowns, and the organization and planning of banquet setup request(s). The Supervisor is also responsible for training and coaching of the banquet setup staff. He/she will provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service in a resort brand inspired hotel environment, where attention to detail is key.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
- Minimum one-year related experience in a resort hotel or conference center environment preferred.
- Previous hospitality experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently or with a team with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests according to Caribe Royale Orlando Hotel standards.
- Follow all Event Orders and Floorplans to ensure accuracy when setting an event.
- Ensure hotel standards of cleanliness and set up of function space for the banquet and event areas are executed with the highest level of proficiency.
- Assist Banquet team and managers with all aspects of service.
- Report any damaged or misused equipment to Banquet Manager.
- Ensure that room checklist and cleaning schedules are being completed.
- Administer schedules and set up sheets for banquet set up staff.
- Train Banquet set up associates and ensure new employees can use equipment in a safe manner.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment.
- Attend BEO meetings when banquet manager is unavailable.
- Actively participate in daily briefings and meetings.
- Maintain guest confidentiality following all hotel procedures.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.
Education
- High school diploma or GED.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Experience using software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.
Physical Requirements
- On a continuous basis, stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.
- Use telephone and computer keyboard daily.
- Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
