Position Summary:
The Monterey County Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Mobile Crisis Team (15-20 staff) in Monterey County. This includes collaborating with community partners like Monterey County Behavioral Health (MCBH), Natividad Hospital, law enforcement officers, and more.
The Monterey County Program Supervisor will assist with hiring and training staff, providing assistance and advising staff that need support with crisis situations, collaborate with Monterey County and Salinas City, and assisting with any other functions or processes associated with the continuous function of the team and/or program.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with Central Coast Regional Manager and Human Resources Department to facilitate the screening, interviewing, and hiring of all approved MCT positions.
- Conduct and coordinate the training and travel of the mobile crisis team when dispatched out to a call.
- Oversee and manage the administrative support staff in all recordkeeping practices to ensure accurate documentation exists for needed facility certificates and staff training.
- Act as onsite liaison between Monterey County and Sierra Mental Wellness Group.
- Manage and oversee the organization’s internal facility infrastructure by coordinating maintenance and other needed facility systems.
- Work closely with the Central Coast Regional Manager on the implementation of policies and procedures for the Monterey County Program Supervisor to create and maintain on site Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
- Manage the staffing patterns for the MCT to ensure proper support and coverage for all shifts.
- Complete administrative functions such as reviewing and completing timecards, coaching and providing documented feedback to staff members, etc.
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) on all Sierra Mental Wellness Group policies and procedures.
- Reviewing, auditing, and cosigning staff documentation in EHR.
- Other duties as assigned.

Schedule/Work Environment:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday – 8am to 5pm; with additional after-hours support as necessary on nights/weekend.
- Position Location: This position will be onsite primarily in the Monterey County Behavioral Health building in Salinas, CA. Please note: this position cannot be fulfilled working remotely in another county.
- Travel: While working on-site this position will be expected to travel to county or crisis-related meetings in the community and throughout Monterey County.
Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics:
- Graduation from an accredited university with a minimum of a master’s degree in either social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- Possess a valid California license as an LCSW, MFT, and/or LPCC.
- Registered with BBS in California.
- At least five (5) years of experience in the provision of community mental health crisis services and two (2) years of supervision of crisis services preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in the supervision of staff.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with supervisors, direct reports, and colleagues through effective job performance and leadership.
