We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Information Technology Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both hardware and software, experience working in a physician practice or hospital setting, experience training staff to use appropriate software and systems as well as strong customer service and communication skills.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree in MIS or business management systems required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of hardware and software issues
Experience working in a physician practice or hospital setting
Experience training staff to facilitate information system functions
Strong communication skills
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Security
- Maintains maximum security within the network and system - oversees password creation and usage by all management and staff
- Oversees staff's use of system - access, job processing, sequence
- Oversees all user access cards, alarm codes and door schedules.
System Management
- Oversee the entire system network, and acts as a resource for questions relating to:
- Billing and collections
- Word processing
- Electronic mail
- Active directory
- Provides staff training and support for all new software applicants
- Facilitates requests for special database searches and reports
- Arranges for in-house software application development (database programs, spreadsheet programs, etc)
- Manages electronic data interchange with payers, reference labs, and hospitals
- Manages electronic remittance advice
- Acts as an internal resource for questions about the system as needed
- Develops and maintains a policy manual for all systems operations including programming, security and maintenance
- Manages Image sharing site access and issues
- Manages all aspects of phone system
- Troubleshoots issues with all systems
Maintenance
- Identifies and resolves all hardware and software system problems, as requested by management and staff
- Maintains system hardware and software as appropriate
- Implements and oversees all system updates and upgrades
- Maintains all managed care payer rule changes, updates, and additions
- Maintains all insurance, patient, code, and other master files
Training
- Develop instructional material including visual aids, student handouts, training exercises and reference material
- Plan, design, and coordinate training programs
- Assess and analyze training needs
- Liaise with management and staff in areas where IT is being applied
- Talk with developers and suppliers of new IT products and teaching methods to maintain valid personal knowledge and skill
External Relationships
- Maintains relationship with appropriate technical staff at computer vendor
Other
- Attends all continuing education courses as requested
- Performs any additional tasks requested by the CEO
