SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The CO / ECO (Change order / Engineering Change Order) Coordinator / Admin plays a key role in the product change process, supporting engineering and operations teams by reviewing incoming change requests, validating order status, and managing the flow of tasks based on the type of change. This is an entry-level, hands-on position that requires high attention to detail, organizational skills, and basic familiarity with electronics manufacturing—particularly PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) processes. Ideal for candidates looking to grow into process, documentation, or engineering support roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Change Request Processing: Review and assess requests (CO / ECO), ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
- Order Status Validation: Check current production and procurement order statuses to determine the impact and timing of the proposed change.
- Workflow Assignment: Assign tasks and initiate workflows in line with defined procedures based on change type and order status (e.g., pre-production vs. in-production).
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Cross-function Collaborate (Quote, engineering, purchasing, planning, production, …) to ensure timely execution of requests.
- Communication with stakeholders: Communicate with internal and external team members during different stages of the request (evaluation, implementation, Clouser, …) and professionally represent the company to outside customers and business partners as needed.
- Reporting & Follow-up: Provide status updates and assist in reporting open/closed ECOs on a regular cadence and escalate as needed.
- Fast-Paced Problem Solving: Perform in a dynamic New Product Introduction (NPI) environment, addressing urgent technical issues with efficiency and accuracy.
- Professionally represent the company to outside vendors, customers, and business partners as needed.
- Work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after-hour emergency calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required; associate degree or coursework in engineering, manufacturing, or business preferred.
- 0–1 year of professional experience; prior internship or exposure to manufacturing is a plus.
- Basic understanding of PCBA processes and manufacturing terminology is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Effective communication (verbal/written ) and follow-up skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and a proactive problem solver.
- Ability to solve practical problems using pre-established guidelines to deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Strong people management skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Highly organized and able to work with minimum supervision while maintaining effective time management.
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
