What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stockroom Clerk position at Sierra Proto Express?
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for providing support to the Purchasing department by assisting in organizing and maintaining stockroom materials and supplies, by issuing materials to the production department, along with supporting the inventory control procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stockroom Clerk:
- Provide materials/supplies according travelers/requisition form.
- Issue MRO and Stock Consumables.
- MRO and Stock Consumable inventory control.
- Replenish supplies.
- Maintain safety and security of all materials, tools, supplies, etc. in stockroom.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials/supplies and distribute/stock accordingly.
- Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory levels.
- Enter/update inventory on purchasing software (ProCim) and/or excel spreadsheet.
- Perform daily clerical functions: filing, copying, data entry etc.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Interact professionally and diplomatically with managers, co-workers, and vendors.
- May be required to operate a forklift as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of warehouse/stockroom experience.
- Excellent, professional customer service skills with vendors and internal/external customers with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good mathematical aptitude.
- Good computer skills: Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook and ability to learn new skills and tasks as required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds maximum and stand/walk throughout the day.
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of management
- Self-motivator and a sense of ownership and urgency.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality & professionalism at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
