Job Description:
PATIENT POPULATION:
The patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Informatics and Technology, the Clinical Analyst R.N. is responsible for the installation, support and maintenance of all clinical related applications, to include implementation of new applications, resolving incidents and fulfilling requests received from the Help Desk.
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

Three (3)-five (5) years of Acute hospital clinical experience required. Knowledge of Meditech clinical systems required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire. Experience in implementation of a clinical information system in an acute hospital preferred. A demonstrated interest in Healthcare Information Technology.
Effective oral and written communication skills are integral to the position. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Ability to communicate, in both verbal and written form, complex technical information in understandable terms to management and end user personnel of Sierra View Medical Center. Excellent verbal communication skills required to deal with interpersonal situations in a professional manner. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to provide formal and informal technology teaching and competency validation to both hospital and medical staff.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required. Analytical skills.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills. This position makes judgments and takes reasonable action required to accomplish project objectives with minimal direct supervision. Effective time management skills to permit working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Orientation to detail. The position requires significant capacity to manage multiple competing objectives.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
A current CA Registered Nurse license required. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required within 3 years of hire (BSN applies only Clinical Analyst RN is the employee's primary position).
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1 * Participates on project implementation teams as directed to assist with new module/application development, building, testing and implementation, working with a high degree of precision and accuracy. Responds as resource for clinical and medical personnel during implementation and support durations and beyond, as necessary, completing rounds on the patient units to solicit end-user feedback and validate clinical workflow.
2 * Maintains facility-specific dictionaries within the Meditech system.
3 * Acts as Clinical Liaison and provides leadership to clinical departments in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, effective clinical system processes, by providing ongoing monitoring of audit reports, and collaborating with multiple departments, to facilitate the problem-solving process.
4 * Possesses understanding of clinical workflow processes, resulting in current and future workflow enhancements and performance improvements to support clinical practice.
5 * Assists with resolution and troubleshooting of complex issues and requests escalated from the Help Desk or other Hospital department resources and medical staff.
6 * Able to work effectively under pressure with competing deadlines, completing day to day activities, responding to customer requests in a timely manner and supporting implementations.
7 Collaborates with the Education Department and Hospital Leadership in the development of educational materials and provision of structured training courses related to clinical information systems for Hospital and medical staff.
8 Provides on-call assistance/support for Clinical and Medical Staff as assigned.
