EVS Aide I - Full Time
- Shift: Variable, 8 hour shifts
PATIENT POPULATION:
The patient population served can be all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the EVS Aide I performs a variety of housekeeping duties. Uses a variety of cleaning devices and solutions in performance of job responsibilities. Ensures that customer quality expectations are met. Performs other duties as requested.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations."

- Indicates Essential Function
1 * Performs a variety of duties related to maintaining the standards of cleanliness on patient and non-patient areas.
a. Daily cleaning: cleans patient rooms per standard procedure, including occupied rooms and discharged/transferred patient rooms. Keeps hallways clear and uncluttered.
b. Project cleaning: Assists with cleaning the rooms of discharged/transferred patients on other units. Cleans clean and soiled utility rooms, nursing stations, nursing lounge, lobby and lobby restrooms daily. Does in-depth cleaning such as carpet edges, walls, in hallways and patient rooms as time permits.
2 * Functions as the Hospitality Team Member in meeting the patient's needs and the Hospital's needs. Interacts with patient, family members, visitors, and Hospital staff to identify needs and responds appropriately. Notifies appropriate patient care provider when problems exist beyond the assigned scope.
3 Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Identifies opportunities for improvement, and proposes policy-procedure additions/changes to Assistant Director and/or department Performance Improvement Committee.
4 Demonstrates flexibility in effectively handling a variety of duties; cross-trains in other areas of the department as needed. Flexible in scheduling; meets department needs.
