Job Description : PATIENT POPULATION :
The patient population served is all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Imaging / Physical Therapy and the Radiology Manager, and in consultation with the Medical Director, provides input on the performance of all technologists and ancillary personnel. Must be knowledgeable in the area of patient requirements, especially safety and comfort. Must be familiar with all types of radiographic equipment and accessories used in the department. Supervises and schedules technologists to assigned areas. Is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and care of patients. Must be competent to deliver care appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Ensures that the Technologists demonstrate the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs. Possesses the knowledge of growth and development and have an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups. Must maintain an environment of cohesiveness and teamwork.
May be assigned to work in other Imaging modalities. Must follow AIDET and accepts reassignments and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner. Must maintain the department in compliance with rules and regulations set forth by governing agencies. On call responsibilities required if Technologist is trained in multiple modalities, (C.T., M.R.I., Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology), on call responsibilities will be assumed for two (2) of the aforementioned modalities during the call period. Example : (Ultrasound / Nuclear medicine or C.T. / Radiography).
Must be able to work normal / scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE :

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an Associate degree in Health Science, Business or related fields. A minimum of one (1) year of experience involving all phases of Radiography, including qualifying supervisory experience and evidence of administrative skills and abilities preferred. Interest in and aptness for classroom teaching as well as on-the-job instruction of students and employees.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have solid background in computer applications in Business and Radiology.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiological Technologist in the state of California along with a Fluoroscopy Permit. ARRT certification is required. Must have and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care. IV certification is preferred.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
5 Refers unsolved problems relating to staffing, morale, scheduling, etc., to the Administrative Director and / or Manager.
6 Coordinates service and preventive maintenance of the equipment with floor function, when required, and in conjunction with the Administrative Director and / or Manager.
7 Handles administrative details incident to procurement and storage of supplies and equipment. Performs product evaluations, as required. Maintains records and reports of these activities.
8 Keeps abreast of new developments in Radiographic procedures, methods and equipment. Evaluates their applicability to departmental operations and makes recommendations to the Administrative Director and / or Manager.
