About This Position
The Festival Outreach Associate works with the SIFF Marketing team to create and execute SIFF’s community outreach strategy, promotional campaigns, and grassroots efforts to increase regional awareness and attendance for the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival.

Reports to: Community Engagement Manager
Compensation: $22/hour
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Research local communities, businesses, special interest groups, and organizations to promote the SIFF 2025 film lineup and events
- Work closely with community partners to develop and implement promotional opportunities to gain additional exposure through contests, creative promotions, etc.
- Execute on-site activations with SIFF staff at festival venues, including tabling, giveaways, and introductions
- Maintain detailed trackers and schedules for outreach activities
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of print and electronic promotional materials, including flyers or social media assets
- Assist with website copywriting, proofing, and updating as needed
- Actively participates in meetings and brainstorms with team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field (will consider currently enrolled students), or equivalent combination of marketing experience and training in lieu of degree.
- Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for building relationships
- Passion for and knowledge of film and cinema
- Strong working knowledge of grassroots email marketing and social media platforms
- Ability to take initiative, employ good judgment, and manage projects/tasks from beginning to end
- Exceptional ability to be proactive, manage details, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet deadlines and to anticipate next steps or needs
- Canva experience and an understanding of basic layout and graphic design principles
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Work Environment: Hybrid allowed. This temporary position will work onsite at our Seattle office (SIFF Film Center) and may be required to be onsite for Festival screenings and events at our venues. This role typically requires commuting between venues, walking, standing, carrying promotional materials, and public speaking, but accommodations are available for all. Remote work is allowed, with schedule agreed upon with supervisor.
