SightLine is an agile, innovative company developing onboard video processing systems for the autonomous vehicle industry (UAV, drone, robot, etc.). Purpose of Position
Based in the Hood River office, this role involves collaborating with our software and hardware teams to develop new products and enhance our existing ones. We are looking for someone who is eager to tackle challenging image-processing problems, enthusiastic about contributing to innovative solutions and who thrives in a collaborative environment. Our ideal candidate prioritizes team success and is dedicated to achieving collective goals.
Summary Of Essential Job Functions
Estimate salary range for this position is $100K to $135K annually depending on experience.
We are open to hiring candidates with varying levels of experience. The estimated salary band will be adjusted accordingly based on the candidate’s experience and expertise.
Total compensation includes salary, 11 paid holidays, PTO (20 days earned over the first year), health insurance (100% SightLine covered for HDHP with HSA), dental, vision, life/disability, 401K match, incentive plan, SightLine equivalent OR PFMLI coverage, schedule flexibility, parental leave, and education reimbursement.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team including hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Work on embedded video processors used in security and surveillance products (autonomous, airborne, ground, and other applications).
- Collaborate on the design, test and implementation of software to support integration of cameras, embedded processors, and custom integrated circuits (ICs) with a focus on camera systems.
- Develop and maintain firmware and existing Linux C/C software for camera and motor control systems.
- Interface with complex systems including MIPI channels for high-speed data transfer and hardware diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
- Directly support customers.
- Rapidly develop new skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (preferred electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, music, or other relevant degree).
- Knowledgeable about computer vision interface standards including MIPI, Camera Link, HDMI, SDI, Parallel Video, LVDS, UVC, USB3Vision.
- Understanding of how camera systems work from lenses to image sensors, motors, real-time processing, drivers, camera tuning and tradeoffs (light, sharpness, noise, etc.)
- Familiarity with Linux build systems, creating and installing drivers and device driver debugging.
- Knowledgeable with Linux filesystems, GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, etc.
- For Mid-Level Position: 3-5 years of C/C embedded software development experience.
- For Senior-Level Position: 5-10 years of C/C embedded software development experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other electronics tools.
- Software unit testing and use of version control (SVN, GIT).
- Embedded Linux software development in C/C
- Software optimization experience on ARM, GPU, or DSP processors.
- Worked with or implemented embedded hardware drivers.
