Position Summary:

As a Clinical Research Lab Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical research trials. You will be responsible for performing phlebotomy on research participants and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of biological samples, with a specific focus on handling and processing Quantiferon-Gold specimens. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong aseptic technique, and a commitment to following strict protocols.


Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Perform venipuncture on research participants according to established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Accurately label and process blood samples, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and preparation for transport.
  • Accurately handle and process Quantiferon-Gold specimens, ensuring proper incubation and temperature maintenance.
  • Centrifuge Quantiferon-Gold specimens according to protocol.
  • Process all other blood tubes according to protocol, including centrifugation and separation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all phlebotomy procedures and specimen handling activities.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist with other research activities as needed, such as data entry, inventory management, and study site maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy) preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a phlebotomist or in a clinical research setting preferred.
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred.
  • Proven experience with venipuncture techniques and aseptic techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures, including centrifugation and specimen handling.
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Work Schedule:

  • 3-5 days per week

Hourly Pay Range:

  • $25/hr to $30/hr
