We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to support manufacturing operations. You’ll collaborate across departments to forecast demand and maintain accurate records, all while ensuring compliance with company policies and providing best-in-class customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure the company's supply needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to achieve the best possible terms for the company and overall lower cost of ownership.
- Utilize ERP systems (Sage100) to monitor inventory levels, manage purchase orders, and track material shipments.
- Resolve any vendor-related issues, including quality, delivery, or cost concerns.
- Effectively utilize current ERP (Enterprise resource planning) to analyze data relating to demand planning. Examine trends to suggest changes to current material forecasts.
- Collaborate with other departments (Sales, Operations, and Finance) to align supply chain activities with organizational goals and demand forecasts.
- Manage the appropriate procurement path for items including buying direct versus buying through distributors.
- Utilize ERP systems (Sage100) to create and release purchase orders to vendors, process and verify material receipts (direct and indirect purchases).
- Match raw material purchases with vendor invoices.
- Verify material consumption on batch tickets and close batch tickets.
- Manage office administrative tasks including printing/emailing documents and reports and shipping customer samples.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience in similar field. REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION
- Minimum 3-5 continuous years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION
- Proficient in ERP systems such as Sage100, SAP or similar.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and develop strategies based on trends and forecasts.
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
