WHAT WE NEED:
Entry Level Drafter/Designer
Sigma is looking for a Drafter/Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience creating detailed technical drawings, working closely with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to develop precise and effective project deliverables. This role is essential in bringing conceptual designs to life through accurate and detailed drafting. This individual will be mentored, trained, and coached by established professionals with decades of industry experience.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
- Develop and review technical drawings and plans, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, including design changes, revisions, and project records.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in drafting and design.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to refine designs and ensure accuracy.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on project requirements.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to verify client P&IDs, gather field data/measurements, and verify design specifications.
- Meeting deadlines and delivering drawings and documentation on time is another critical performance metric.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive technical documentation, including drafting logs, revision control, as-built drawing, and drawing libraries.
WHO WE NEED:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency and previous experience in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, Plant3D) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, techniques, and standards is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong willingness to learn with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with 3D modeling and rendering is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and regulations.
