POSITION SUMMARY

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
• Inspect maintenance systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues.
• Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)
• Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory, recommends purchasing of maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
• Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
• Assists higher-level technicians.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.
• Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35- and 95-degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
• The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
