We are currently seeking a Purchasing Coordinator at our corporate office in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities include:
- Promptly processes and completes purchase requisitions/purchase orders; research pricing from various vendors which meet cost and quality guidelines; places orders; track shipments; verifies receipt of purchase.
- Performs price analysis and conducts negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best quantity and cost in order to ensure end-users needs are met; negotiates delivery, terms and conditions, and pricing.
- Communicates status throughout each Procurement Order
- Maintains communication with suppliers and Program Managers/Personnel during course of procurement action in order to ensure timely delivery in compliance with the requirements of the procurement document
- Works to deadlines based on schedules, Period of Performance, cost budgets
- Responsible for keeping organized purchasing files and actioning required documentation for each order
- Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint System
- Self-motivated and takes direction from others, team player, practical thinker
- Multi-tasker to process new orders, while status checking prior orders and process receiving paperwork
- Attention to detail for accurate order and quoting
- Ability to research and write a Sole Source Justification Evaluation and decides on the acquisition of new products or services
- Preferred knowledge of Procurement FAR/DFARS
- Preferred experience working under a DCMA certified purchasing system
