Lead Sign Installer

Position Overview

The Installer at SignCrafters plays a vital role in the final stage of the sign production process, ensuring that signs are safely and securely installed at client locations. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to represent the company positively while interacting with customers. The Installer must be comfortable working at heights, proficient with measurements, and skilled in operating specialized equipment to ensure installations meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities Installation and Setup

• Use commercial lift trucks to lift and position signs onto walls, poles, or in the ground.
• Operate an excavator to dig concrete footers for sign installations as needed.
• Secure signs according to engineering specifications, ensuring stability and safety.
• Perform on-site adjustments and touch-ups to guarantee signs meet quality standards.

Measurements and Accuracy

• Take precise measurements on-site to verify installation specifications align with project requirements.

Customer Interaction

• Serve as a point of contact on-site, maintaining a professional demeanor while addressing client questions or concerns.
• Provide updates to customers on the installation process and timelines.

Equipment and Safety

• Operate and maintain equipment such as commercial lift trucks and excavators in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during installation, including proper use of harnesses, helmets, and other protective gear.
• Inspect tools and equipment regularly to ensure they are in good working condition.

Communication and Reporting

• Use CompanyCam to document installation progress and upload photos of completed projects.
• Update Google Calendar to track installation schedules.
• Report any delays, issues, or changes in project scope to the Director of Installation.

Software Requirements

• CompanyCam: Document and share progress through photos and notes.
• Google Calendar: Track and manage daily schedules and installation timelines.

Performance and Productivity Expectations

The Installer will be evaluated on the following:

• Precision and accuracy in sign placement and alignment.
• Timeliness in completing installations according to schedule.
• Adherence to safety protocols and proper equipment use.
• Quality of customer interactions and professionalism on-site.
• Effective documentation and communication using required software tools.

Qualifications and Skills

• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong measurement and mathematical skills to ensure accurate installations.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
• Experience operating commercial lift trucks, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with safety procedures for construction and installation environments.

Position Structure and AvailabilityThis is an hourly position, requiring availability during SignCrafters’ operating hours. Flexibility may be needed to meet project timelines, especially for larger installations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
