Job Description
This role requires full responsibility for both the Layout and Graphics Production Technician roles and responsibilities that are assigned. The Graphics Technician / Layout Production Team Member is accountable for making sure their assigned work is completed in a timely and accurate manner, upholding SPI’s quality standards on every job. The amount of work required between both roles will vary by day but will be assigned by your direct supervisor in accordance with Departmental needs. It is important to be flexible and responsive to every detail to ensure the best results are achieved.
_Graphics Production Technician Duties and Responsibilities _
_ _ Load/unload R2000 Scitex, HP3200, OKI Data and Gerber Edge2 printers, vinyl/rigid plotters.
Have ability to send jobs to above stated devices via Onyx RIP 19 Thrive and Omega Plot 6.5.
Be able to keep paperwork with products as the workflow moves in and out of the department.
Treat finished products in a professional, clean and damage free manner (foam wrapping, corner
protection, etc.)
Communicate with your supervisor on tickets, issues, concerns, and ideas.
Keep the work area clean, put ALL tools back at the end of the day and work in a safe and professional manner.
Work by a set schedule. Start and end time will be set by your supervisor.
Coming in late or leaving early WILL be documented and appropriate action will be taken by administration with repeated incidences.
Work appropriately to assure that the due dates on orders are met (with respect to other departments that may need to be involved as well)
On a daily, and weekly basis make sure the printers / plotters are being maintained, cleaned, and repaired if necessary.
Layout Duties and Responsibilities
Weed and mask a variety of vinyl types (see below)
Laminate roll printed graphics as well as rigid printed graphics
Apply various vinyl types to a variety of substrates (see below)
Trim printed graphics by hand when contour cutting is not applied
Be able to keep paperwork with products as the workflow moves in and out of the department
Using Cyrious clock in and out of every job with accuracy as well as with your breaks, lunch, punch in and punch out times
Treat finished products in a professional, clean and damage free manner (foam wrap, corner protection, etc.)
Communicate with your supervisor on tickets, issue, concerns, and ideas
Keep an eye on basic inventory and let your supervisor know when amounts are getting low
Other Skills/Duties –
Flexible and available to take on or help with additional work in the given department when needed
Work at an efficient and productive pace with emphasis on quality.
Being able to stand for long periods of time.
Vehicle RTA application
Install graphics as directed by Supervisor
Traveling to an onsite install to assist other installers (not structural or OSHA regulated situations)
Stocking delivered inventory
Maintenance on any machines / devices / tools used in those departments
Develop skills in using new equipment as defined in your personal development goals established each year with your direct supervisor
Any other requests directed by your supervisor within the scope of the business
Must be able to read and understand detailed dimensions
Ensure that work quality is excellent
Work in a safe manner
Work well with others within the department and Sign Pro Inc.
Follow instructions and details on work orders and shop drawings
When required, represent Sign Pro in a positive manner while working in the field
Clean up after yourself
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
