This position will manage, and direct efforts related to supporting child care providers in Tennessee. This involves working within the Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) network to ensure effective support for small businesses offering child care services.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree is preferred from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences or related field.
- Over five years of management experience is preferred.
- Over ten years of experience in this or related field is preferred.
- Strong management and organizational skills to manage statewide projects.
- Experience successfully managing program/department budgets.
- Experience training and coaching adult learners.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers.
- Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
- Willingness to travel statewide, work some nights and weekends which may include overnight travel.
- Must be able to work from a remote home environment within the state of TN.

Under the direction of the Chief Officer of Child Care Resource and Referral, the Deputy Director of Child Care Business Services will have the following responsibilities:
- Supervise the Small Business Support Coordinator, Quality Response and Improvement Coordinator, and Tech Goes Home Coordinator.
- Provide leadership and guidance
- Meet frequently through Zoom or in person
- Provide feedback on their work and the work of the Specialty Coaches
- Assign tasks and follow up on progress
- Complete performance evaluations, quarterly
- Establish guidelines and procedures for specialist and coach positions.
- Monitor compliance of Small Business Support, Quality Response and Improvement, and Technology Initiatives with DHS contract scope of services.
- Coordinate training, technical assistance, and support to CCR&R local agencies, including Executive Directors, Principle Investigators, CCR&R Coordinators, agency fiscal staff, agency data staff.
- Assist with onboarding new staff including attending New Hire Orientation.
- Research and explore trends related to child care small business practices and share with Network Management.
- Provide advocacy, networking, support and oversight of state-focused initiatives.
- Seek external funding sources and participate in grant proposal applications for the
CCR&R Network.
- Conduct statewide CCR&R meetings, including planning and program development meetings.
- Lead applicable Task Groups.
- Participate in partner meetings as requested by DHS, CCR&R Management and/or other partners or funders, which may require overnight travel.
- Facilitate/train on curriculum content to CCR&R Staff.
- Mentor CCR&R staff and promote a culture that incorporates agency values.
- Positively market the CCR&R Network to the community.
- Coordinate with DHS to track customer satisfaction with various components of the CCR&R.
- Provide training and technical assistance at times most convenient for our child care agencies and partners, which may at times require work on weeknights or weekends.
- Provide in-person training and technical assistance to adult learners in both large group, small group, and individual settings.
- Serve as facilitator for Train-the-Trainer Institutes and Supplemental Trainings as requested.
- Author content for CCR&R newsletter/social media/website as requested.
- Collaborate with applicable State agencies.
- Achieve and maintain First Aid/CPR instructor certification provided by CCR&R.
- Achieve and maintain AIMHi ™ endorsement.
- Initiate and cultivate an inclusive work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
