Position overview:
SignalFire Wireless Telemetry designs and manufactures low-powered industrial solutions for reliable, user-friendly sensing, controlling, and monitoring without the use of wires. Our platform is compatible with most industrial sensors and available with 900MHz Radio Frequency or Cellular & Cloud for flexibility and cost effectiveness. These products are robust and certified for hazardous locations with a built-in secure communication protocol that enables long-distance wireless communication connecting multiple devices together in challenging outdoor environments. Our objective is to provide users with the solution they need to digitally transform their operations with the use of existing or new sensors without running wires, cables, and conduit.
The company is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer. The selected candidate will be responsible for procuring materials, goods, and services while ensuring best value, quality, and OTD. This role involves new supplier selection, qualification, contract negotiation, and process improvement to support our evolving supply chain demands and objectives. The Senior Buyer works closely with Production and Operations management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and drive regular purchasing activities. This is an in-person role with occasional travel to remote factory and supplier sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Lead all domestic and international sourcing activities including managing supply from all sources, identifying, and developing new suppliers.
Formulates a strategic sourcing plan that identifies and qualifies new/suitable suppliers, optimizing cost structures and proactively ensures continuity of supply based on growth and other business objectives
Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance including the company s use of ERP system, system parameters and ISO processes and documents, make and implement recommendations for improvement.
Handle contract negotiations with suppliers
Execute purchasing transactions within scope area by issuing purchase orders and ensuring on-time delivery
Manage all relevant master data in MRP to ensure accurate and complete information at all times
Manage supplier performance scorecards and ensure executive support for the supply base management plan
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Proficiency in procurement software and MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, Oracle, etc.)
Highly articulate both in the verbal and written form with a comprehensive level of computer proficiency
You possess a high level of organisational and resource management skills
You are a team player who is comfortable working in a non-hierarchical business
You are entrepreneurial and possess a strong work ethic
Education & Experience:
BA/BS degree required and minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Proficiency in productivity software, MS Office, Excel, Teams
Proficiency in procurement software and MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, Oracle, etc.).
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
Able to identify risk and implement solutions and communicate changes at various levels of the company
