The position of Mortgage Loan Assistant is responsible for working in a small team environment to assist the Mortgage Loan Officers in the day-to-day preparation, execution, and follow-up of all aspects of mortgage loan documentation. The Mortgage Loan Assistant is also responsible to work within a larger team environment by helping the Mortgage President and other bank personnel in expanding customer relationships and exceeding customer service expectations.
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree required.
- Additional post-secondary education courses related to the financial services industry is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years previous banking experience required with mortgage loan experience preferred.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate courteously and professionally in English (both written and oral) before groups of customers, team members, and management of the Bank.
- Strong computer skills and ability to utilize all necessary software applications including Microsoft Office.
- Sound listening, reasoning, and judgement skills, as well as problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills with ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good interpersonal communication skills to effectively relate to all levels of the Bank staff.
- Ability to handle high stress situations.
- Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment.
