Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our family practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures such as restorative, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
- Perform X-rays and assist in the interpretation of results as needed.
- Document patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical documentation in accordance with practice protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office operations.
- Be proficient in scanning and taking intraoral photos
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care across various specialties, including prosthodontics.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft
Skills
- Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Experience with medical documentation practices.
- Understanding of prosthodontics is a plus.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience using dental management systems such as Eaglesoft
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all tasks.
- Be able to input notes as needed
This position is Monday-Thurs.
Must have at least 2 years of working experience.
