Role:
To assist members with their Credit Union membership needs. Provides expertise on establishing a new account. Goal is to establish new accounts with a service such as reoccurring ACH or a VISA/loan/etc. Will be required to learn about SFCU's various services such as shares, loans, and VISA products. Ability to learn how to open new accounts in Symitar and Opening Act and adhere to the new account checklist. This role does not have remote work capabilities, except for when inclement weather occurs, Membership Specialists will be required to be online and working remotely.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
90% To assist members with their Credit Union membership needs. Provides expertise on establishing a new account with the goal of establishing new accounts with a service such as a reoccurring ACH or a VISA/loan/etc.
Will be required to learn about SFCU's various services such as shares, loans, and VISA products. Ability to learn how to open new accounts in Symitar and Opening Act and adhere to the new account checklist.
10% Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To provide friendly, prompt, professional, and accurate service and support to all potential members, members and coworkers including, answering questions and/or processing member requests.
2. To resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
3. To cross sell Credit Union's products and services.
4. To make suggestions to improve products and services.
5. Adheres to all NCUA, state, and local regulations as well as the Credit Union's security policy and other policies and procedures.
6. To meet or exceed the minimum established goals each month.
7. To make sure other job related duties are completed in a timely manner.
8. This position does not have the ability to work remotely.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One or more years of similar office experience or related experience is required.
Education: A college degree is preferred but not required
Interpersonal Skills: Must have the ability to sell and cross sell Credit Union products/services. A significant level of trust, integrity and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
Must be able to collect and analyze data and to make quick decisions after analysis.
Must have the ability to foster sound relationships with members and in some cases with vendors.
Other Skills: Must have good communication skills, both orally and in writing, and be detail oriented.
Must understand basic finance calculations.
Must be able to sell and build relationships.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Generally must be able to lift 25 pounds to pack and ship for membership events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.37 - $30.55 per hour
