JOB TITLE: Escrow Assistant/Processor
JOB SUMMARY
Our escrow assistant is responsible for pre-closing matters. S/He works with lenders, loan officers, real estate agents, and attorneys to acquire, analyze, and organize all necessary documents needed to process the closing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews Purchase Agreements, Buyer’s and Seller’s Welcome Packages.
- Contacts agents and/or loan officers for any omitted information.
- Follows up on title order, and other missing documentation.
- Handles phone calls, faxes, emails, checks for certifications.
- Maintains accurate and updated tax collector, homeowner’s association, and condominium association information.
- Reviews title commitment for mortgages, judgments, etc. and distribute to appropriate parties, upon receipt of title report.
- Follows up on outstanding lender conditions.
- Orders all necessary documents to close escrows in a timely manner (i.e., demands, loan documents, and insurance)
- Maintains records of communication with all partners involved in escrows.
- Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines.
- Informs escrow officers of any missing items or problems relevant to closing.
- Deposits any funds required by buyers and sellers of each escrow within 24 hours of receipt .
- Reviews file in preparation of closing and production of documents.
- Returns all calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to company policies and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE o Minimum one (1) year of experience as an escrow assistant is preferred. o Customer Service experience is helpful o Working knowledge of computer software and basic internet
EDUCATION
A high school diploma is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE o No certifications, licenses, or insurance are required.
KNOWLEDGE o Understands escrow standards, title clearance, real estate regulations and guidelines, and document preparation. o Comprehends pay off per diems, tax prorations, interest, and the like. o Understands lender documents and recordings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (including physical requirements)
This position requires repetitive use of a keyboard, extensive phone use, bending, sitting, squatting, light lifting, and simple grasping.
