The Controller will oversee all accounting operations to ensure routine, timely, and accurate financial reporting is produced to internal & external parties to drive strategic management decisions. Additionally, the controller plays a crucial role in cash flow management, tax planning, insurance management, and treasury management to help optimize profitability and manage risk. The controller will establish, implement, & maintain strong internal controls across the organization to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data. This position requires critical thinking skills and the desire to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems. Individuals will work in a fast-paced and creative environment that encourages out-of-the-box thinking, efficient problem solving and timely execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manage the company wide month end and quarter end close process to meet internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Preparation, review, and disbursement of quarterly consolidated financial statements and schedules including owner reporting.
- Monitor debt and external compliance obligations for accounting division.
- Maintain organizational chart and own new entity, account, and vendor creation processes.
- Oversee treasury functions including daily operations, liquidity reporting, and cash flow management
- Lead annual tax initiatives such as 1099 prep, property tax payments, franchise tax payments, income tax entries, and trial balance prep for third party tax advisor review.
- Drive companywide annual budget process and develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
- Coordinate with division operations and insurance brokers to monitor and consolidate organization insurance coverage and allocation of costs to entities.
- Coordinate with leadership team to drive companywide system implementations for cash flow management and financial reporting.
- Establish, implement, and maintain internal controls and formal policies, procedures, and training documents in accordance with company best practices
- Lead, develop, and manage corporate accounting team and operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to division accounting team and conduct quarterly EOS performance evaluations.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting (audit preferred), or a related field, preferably real estate or construction
- Proficiency with an ERP accounting environment (NewStar/Vena/Trovata experience is a plus) and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Proven management and leadership skills to develop a team of top performers.
