SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing crisis intervention and crisis therapeutic services to victims of sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and labor trafficking, which include adult and minor victims and their families. This role will be responsible for completing client intake assessments, administering clinical assessment tools, crisis intervention, and individual and group therapy. The Therapist will work with Signs of H.O.P.E advocates, case managers, clinicians, and community partners to holistically assist clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities during scheduled hours include the following:
- Conducting initial intake assessments
- Assessing patients’ emotional and mental health and developing treatment plans to meet them.
- Provide short-term term evidenced-based trauma-focused therapy.
- Providing referrals for additional care or services when required.
- Provide group therapy for primary and secondary survivors of sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and labor trafficking.
- Maintaining detailed electronic confidential records
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field and three years of post-masters degree professional mental health counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Licensure or pre-licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the appropriate licensing or certification authority is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish and strong written communication skills in English are required.
COMPENSATION:
$40.00 per hour

11 hours per week
