Job Description
This is an essential Logistics position that operates in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for timely and accurate recording of inbound and outbound materials, which impact shipping, receiving and inventory processes and records. Facilitates the safe movement of materials in and out of the Brighton site. Responsible for the safe storage of materials in the warehouse and on the dock. Completes required shipping and receiving documentation and performs additional duties to ensure efficient warehouse operations and timely, quality driven, delivery of product to customers.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
- Maintain daily safety compliance and report concerns.
- Ensure proper waste management and maintain a clean work area.
Logistics Operations
- Oversee the movement, storage, and shipping of materials.
- Load/unload trailers, chemical tankers, and rail cars safely.
- Verify and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
- Operate and troubleshoot warehouse equipment.
- Prepare customer orders and outbound transfers.
Leadership & Training
- Act as the main contact when the Logistics Supervisor is offsite.
- Train and mentor new logistics team members.
- Provide guidance and support to operators.
- Assist with recruiting and interviewing new team members.
Process Improvement & Administration
- Support daily warehouse maintenance and process optimization.
- Stay up to date on Learning Management System (LMS) training.
- Assist with inventory control and shipping documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
Compensation Range: $26.00-29.00 per hour
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 5 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
- Knowledge of SAP software and strong math skills.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- DOT 49 CFR certification (Hazardous Materials Transportation).
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly (up to 70 lbs. occasionally).
- Capable of reading instruments, gauges, and documentation.
- Ability to work overtime and adjust shifts as needed.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
