Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Suppression Utility Technician to assist our installation and maintenance team. This role will involve supporting the primary installer with fire suppression system installations, helping cover inspections, and performing smaller tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Suppression Utility Technician to assist our installation and maintenance team. This role will involve supporting the primary installer with fire suppression system installations, helping cover inspections, and performing smaller tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Installation Assistance:
Assist the lead installer in the installation of kitchen fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications, local building codes, and NFPA standards. - Inspection Support:
Conduct routine inspections of kitchen suppression systems, helping to identify any issues and catch up on past-due work orders. - Maintenance and Repairs:
Support the maintenance and repair of kitchen suppression systems, including exit and emergency lighting and portable fire extinguishers, as needed. - Coverage for Absences:
Help cover inspections in the event of technician call-offs, ensuring continued service without disruption. - Shop Support:
Occasionally assist in the shop with inventory or other tasks as required. - Documentation:
Assist in maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs performed. - Training:
As part of your role, you will be required to pass the Pre-Engineered and Fire Extinguisher state certification exams (training provided). - Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing kitchen fire suppression systems.
Qualifications:
- No formal experience required, but familiarity with mechanical installation, maintenance, or repair is a plus.
- Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Compensation:
This is an hourly position, with a pay range from $19–$24 per hour, based on experience as well as annual compensation raises based on merit.
